Accademia (Venice)

Accademia di Belle Arti, founded in 1750 by the painter Giovanni Battista Piazzetta. Venetian school, from the Byzantine period through the Renaissance to the Baroque and later. Must sees of the Byzantine and Gothic section is Paolo Veneziano's Coronation of the Virgin (1325), Giambono's painting of the Virgin (1448), Giovanni Bellini's Madonna and Child between St. John the Baptist and a Saint (c.1504), and other paintings of his Madonna collection in rooms 4 and 5, Tempest from Giorgidne, Landscape paintings alongside Palladio's inner courtyard (1561), paintings of the the greatest Venetian painter Giambattista Tiepolo at 18th century, View of Venice (1763) by Canaletto, Legend of St. Ursula by Carpaccio.
