Nationalmuseum (Stockholm)
The location of the Nationalmuseum, on
the Strommen channel, inspired the 19th century German architect
August Stoler to design a building in the Venetian and Florentine Renaissance
styles. Completed in I866, the Nationalmuseum houses
some 500,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, and drawings from the ]
5th to the early 20th centuries.
