Dive to most famous wreck in the World. The Russian Destroyer who now is home for the fishYou’ve been to Cuba and haven’t dived? Then you haven’t been to Cuba. Cuba is a colourful country with it’s music, culture, history and Fidel!. But who would have imagined the this colourful life continued under water? With water temperatures between 26 to 29°C, it has an intense coral growth, hundreds of small bays and islands and numerous world-class diving sites. Cuba has become a synonym for exciting, colorful and challenging diving. The underwater world offers spectacular views of sunken Spanish galleons and modern submarines. Tortoises, sharks, rays, barracudas, perch, jack fish, parrot fish, snails, starfish, trigger fish and many other species can be found in Cuban marine life. The visibility usually lies between 15 to 35 meters, so you can see everything very clearly. The famous Russian Destroyer wreck lies on the sand slope from around 6m down to 35m, and is to shipwrecks what the Grand Canyon is to landscapes. As the only thing to stick up for some distance, it is coated in benthic marine life and shrouded in fish. Huge sponges hang from the bow, which points out to sea, and every inch is covered in coral or other growth. All the guns are visible, though time and rough seas have smashed the stern down a little and knocked the larger guns from their mounts. It's possible to get into some areas, but deep penetration isn't advised because of the age of the vessel and the delicate growth. Swimming out from the bow and turning gives you one of the most spectacular views of any wreck we have seen. From here, work your way slowly up the ship into the shallows.
